When: Saturday, September 13th, 2025 – TWO shotgun starts, one at 10 am and one at 2 pm. Rain or shine.
Where: Quig’s Maplewood Golf Course in Pickerel, WI
Format: 4-Player Scramble, 9-Holes
We started this event in 2022 and it quickly filled up so for 2023 and beyond we doubled the capacity by doing a second shotgun start… and yet the event still fills up! We’re excited to bring this event back for a 4th year. It’s a fun time and makes a BIG difference in our ability to upgrade the facilities at Kettlebowl Ski Area.

Where Does My Money Go?
Funds generated through this outing have helped us make some wonderful improvements to the hill:

2025 Goal
Since we first opened in 1956, we’ve been at the mercy of mother nature to provide enough natural snow for our guests to enjoy. Unfortunately, the ski seasons have shortened significantly since then due to the severe lack of natural snow. To adapt, we are investigating the possibility of installing snowmaking equipment! This effort is still very much in the preliminary stages, with no guarantee that it can happen.
It’s not a quick process – Once the proper state & county permitting is in place we must drill a test well to see if there is enough water supply, and if that goes well a high-capacity well could be installed. If the high-cap well proves to have adequate water supply then we can start looking at investing in the infrastructure needed to supply power and water to snowmaking equipment (pumps with lots of pipes and power lines around the hill). Then there’s the hoses and snowguns themselves. Plus, we’ll likely need to invest in a different groomer, as a power tiller would be necessary to make the piles of manmade snow skiable.
We’re cautiously optimistic for this to all work out, but there are a lot of things that have to go well. It would be an expensive project, but one we feel is important to keeping Kettlebowl consistently open each winter.
